  1. Would be great if you could talk to Opal directly from the place you're already doing work, loop it into conversations, and assign it work inline. This could be another great entry point into the Opal UI (With links) and would work well in the future if Opal is able to do things in the background and needs to alert the user (like staging content)

  2. Right now, Opal reintroduces itself every conversation you have with it saying:

"Hi there! I'm Opal, Optimizely's AI. Great to meet you! I can help you create content, come up with campaign ideas, generate hypotheses for experiments, and much more. I can also conduct web research, analyze data, summarize documents, and answer your questions about Optimizely products. I have access to a lot of tools to help you get work done, so just try me for anything that comes to mind. Also, if you need help with using Opal, just ask me!

What are you working on today?"

    It could…

  3. There's a couple of tools that we offer that could benefit from an integration with the browser. It would put Opal front and center for users, and allow them to:
    - Quickly get experimentation advice for a page they're on
    - Personalize content they're already viewing
    - Translate a page they're on
    - Review a competitor's page
    - Evaluate a page for WCAG, visual clarity and/or other improvements

  4. Right now, only business context is taken into account, but as a digital marketer, I have different needs from our campaigns or content team. It would be nice if we could set up those instructions either by role from admin center, or (easier) add custom instructions on our account for every user

  5. Just like Claude, Gemini and other AIs, it would be nice if you could add more tools into Opal. Every company we work with, likely has external tools to Optimizely that are rapidly adding integrations and exposing their tools through MCPs, it would be great if Opal could talk to those.

Ideally this would work similar to how Claude has it, where you can add a URL for the tools. Or you could even offer a 'directory' similar to our app directory with popular MCPs

  6. Similar to how Web Experimentation has a desktop app, it would be nice if Opal had an app too to make it easier to open, keep top of mind, and integrate it into your workday. (electron wrapper anyone?)

  7. When pasting in multi-line content, it shows correctly in the textarea (prompt area), but when sending to Opal, it creates one long one-liner

  8. When I create instruction sets for executive reviews, ideally the markup shown has a wider visual variety than it does now. Allowing bolding, headlines, etc. This would increase the readability, and overall create a nicer experience using the chat.

  9. If you have a thread from a couple of days ago, posting a new message keeps it on that date in the sidebar, I would expect the date to be when the latest message came in (so jumping back to top if I message it again)

  10. Right now, if you search in the opal sidebar, it only filters on the title of the thread. It would be great if it could also search within the actual chats themselves

  11. Allow Opal to create assets using the brand templates. This could help quickly create assets on the DAM using the existing templates we've already set up.

For instance, quickly creating an Ad, Banner or YouTube thumbnail

  12. Right now you can only upload a file to Opal from your local machine, would be nice if you could send it an asset from the DAM

  13. Right now, if you're messaging back and forth with Opal, it shows the "copy" icon for every single message. It would be cleaner if it only showed on hover, or behind an ellipsis ...

Bonus points: Show a copy icon on inline code, to only copy that part of the message

  14. This adds more personality to the chat, making it more unique to you than just the 2 letter acronym you have now.

You could also just use gravatar on the email address, or allow users to pick an emoji or their favorite color if images are hard

  15. When you're talking with Opal and it tells you "I can only do that in a CMP instance", it should be able to switch to an instance itself inline using a tool

  16. Ideally, you'd be able to create a new instruction from inline with Opal and have it ideate with you what a good format looks like.

Sample prompt: This was a helpful conversation, can you help me templatise this into an instruction?

  17. Using OpenSearch, ideally you can use opal when creating a new tab and immediately prompt it from there, before even loading the UI.

Using a query param would also open the door to promotion like "try this in opal" on social, blogs etc, and potentially sharing prompts with others in your org and internal documentation.

  18. Sometimes you want to collaborate with a colleague on your next marketing campaign. Would be nice if you could open a chat with opal and add other people, or even just share a link to a chat to share.

  19. Sometimes you want to start a campaign or hypothesis in CMP, then take that idea into Experimentation, and finish in Analytics (for when that's supported). Right now you need to select an instance, but ideally Opal can select this for you (maybe an "auto" option in the instance selection? it could be another tool Opal could have access to)

  20. There are a lot of scenarios where you don't need all business context Opal provides and you just need a quick answer. Like, summarize this text for me, or translate it to another language.

Idea: Allow users to checkbox a "Think fast" in the prompt window. It would only be active for one turn before resetting, and allows you to get a faster response in scenarios like this (where you almost want to use it like a 'dumb' AI without the instruction prefixing. You could even select a faster model in this case (flash vs pro)
