PaasPortal feature to enable site maintenance mode
A control/button in the Paasportal to set the site into maintenance mode.
Currently we can only enable maintenance mode with a deployment - which we might not want to do.19 votes -
Create a publicly available symbols server for Episerver Libraries
Hello,
I recently found through some of my searches on the internet that a symbols server for Episerver libraries did existed in the past. The URL I found so far is the following: http://symbols.episerver.com, but it doesn't seems to be working anymore.
It would be interested to have it back online and working, so we could leverage these pdb file to ease our debugging sessions as developers.
Thank you!

Web page listing security bulletins for Optimizely products
We would like a single point of truth for identified security issues so that we can support our clients.
Ideally this would include affected products/versions as well as suggested patches or remedies.
Ideally this would include all Optimizely products, not just CMS or Commerce.16 votes -
Exclude the hostnames in manage websites when using PaaS Portal to copy database and blobs between environments
For CMS customers that need to copy database and blobs using PaaS Portal, the environment-specific web hostnames (Admin > Config tab > Manage Websites become overwritten. Therefore, users wishing to view content in the preproduction system are routed over to production until the admin puts all the pre-production hostnames back into the system.

Allow developers to directly access databases in lower level environments
As a developer, allowing direct database access to lower level environments, such as integration, to troubleshoot issues or run queries to confirm schema/validate data. Direct access allows developers to do this quickly and efficiently, as the current ways of working with exports can be very cumbersome and time consuming for large databases.

Add built in support for timezone agnostic DateTime
Episervers standard behaviour is to convert DateTime between database, application and editors depending on what time zone the application and editors are in. If would be nice if there would be built in properties (or editor hints to enable timezone agnostic date+time or date only selections. There's a blog post how to enable this written by Casper Aasgard (https://fellow.aagaardrasmussen.dk/2016/04/23/get-predictive-time-zones-in-datetime-properties/, but this requires you to add custom editors to the site. However, there's no premade extension for date-selection only.
This is probably quite easy to add as a standard functionality to the product, which would save a lot of…16 votes -
Provide status icons for content in content area editor
When content is expired in the CMS content tree, it displays a red clock icon to indicate expired status. When editing content in "All Properties" mode references inside content areas that are expired becomes hard to spot unless explicitly switching to "On-Page Editing". Having the status icons present inside content areas would be great assistance to editors that want to work with clean content.

Auto Maintenance Page when origin server is not reachable
It will be good to have a maintenance page or custom error page automatically put up when origin server is not reachable e.g. 403, 502, 503 error response. So that user are not just seeing a generic error page which may impact business image.

Visual compare feature in core product
We're using this add-on on Episerver World and it's very good: https://www.david-tec.com/2018/03/visual-compare-option-available-for-episerver-11/
I think it should be included in the core product so that it is available to everyone.13 votes -
Improve user experience for editors when switching from one site to another
At the moment, when a logged in editor switches from one site (Site A to another (Site B, where she/he has access to, the user is forced to re-log-in to Site B, and the entire CMS is re-loaded, which takes a long time. The current user experience is less than ideal. The customer raising this feedback has about 50 primary websites, with a total of 150 sub-sites.

Adding multiple blocks under Personalization group
EPiServer.CMS version 12.22.7
When trying to add multiple blocks under one personalization group with the same visitorgroup, they can't be merged together as it is today. And when trying to do this as in the attached image, it is just the top item of the same visitorgroup that renders.
There is something that does not play well here. The correct behaviour we think should be to easely merge items with the same visitorgroup.13 votes -
Hide broken links on expired content from Link Status report
Currently, the Link Status report shows broken links that are present on expired pages. I would prefer it if broken links on expired content could be excluded from the report.
This could be configurable.

UserProfile visitor group criterion should not throw an exception if current user is logged in through external OpenID Connect provider ...
...such as AzureAD / Entra ID.
As a site administrator of a site using mixed-mode authentication (both AspNetIdentity for local users and OpenID Connect for AzureAD / Entra ID users, I want to know that my site will not break if I set up a visitor group using the Site Criteria > User Profile criteria. Currently on CMS version 12.31 I get several exceptions if I have such a visitor group defined and I log in as an oidc user. These occur on pages that use the Search & Navigation FilterForVisitor( method and in the CMS editor, causing the page…11 votes -
Prevent version history comments from being deleted/archived.
Currently page comments are removed during the change log truncation process. These comments are associated to the version history and can be used to provide valuable information regarding each content change.
Our content authors rely on these comments for content audits and other reviews. Ideally these should be maintained as long as the version associated with the comment. Perhaps the retention period could be configurable depending on the site needs.11 votes -
Convert blocks
As a developer/administrator, I want to be able to convert blocks like I can convert pages so that I can merge blocks resulting in a cleanup of content and less work for our content editors.
This isn't a new feature request and has been popular on the old forum; see: https://world.optimizely.com/forum/legacy-forums/Feature-requests/Thread-Container/2014/9/Convert-Blocks/. (https://world.optimizely.com/forum/legacy-forums/Feature-requests/Thread-Container/2014/9/Convert-Blocks/
In May 2020, Tomas Hensrud Gulla did a blog post on how he took the existing Convert Pages and made his own Convert Blocks variant with relatively little effort. See https://www.gulla.net/en/blog/convert-episerver-blocks/. (https://www.gulla.net/en/blog/convert-episerver-blocks/11 votes -
As an editor, I'd like navigate to page associated to "For this Page" asset folder
When editing a content object located in "For this X" asset folder I would like to find/navigate to the X content.
This can be solved by adding a link in the "For this X" breadcrumb.11 votes -
Replicate the DXP environment locally using Docker
We are looking into setting up a "DXP like environment" using docker. Looking through the log files in the paasportal, I can se that the website app is turned into a docker image and hosted in an Azure container registry [myenv].azurecr.io.
It would be beneficial if we either could get access to this image repository or access the DockerFile used to create the image. If we had any of those, we could quite easily spin up a container locally that would allow us to debug potential problems that arise on our production web site.
We could of course debug using…10 votes -
Increase help text visibility
As a Digital Marketing Manager, I've observed that CMS editors often neglect help texts. To enhance visibility and address this issue, I believe implementing an option to display these help texts immediately would significantly improve the situation.

Editing Cloudflare's custom error pages in DXP PaaS portal
In case of issues it's not looking good that the signature of error and challenge pages is Cloudflare. Customers want to control all content that could be served to their visitors.
It would be very useful if an DXP administrator could upload or edit the error pages and also be able to toggle a manual editable/uploadable "maintenance page". Both features should be near "live" and don't require code deployment.
