Remove (or Significantly Extend) the 6-Month Maximum Date Range on DAM/Library Asset Reporting & Exports
Category: CMP – Content Marketing Platform / DAM Reporting & Exports
Problem Statement:Asset reporting and exports from the Library/DAM currently cap the selectable date range at a maximum of 6 months. Users who need a complete view of their asset inventory cannot pull a single, full-history report. Instead, they are forced to run multiple time-boxed exports and manually merge them, which is time-consuming, error-prone, and does not scale as an organization accumulates more years of assets.
Current Behavior:
Reporting/export requires selecting a date range no wider than 6 months.
To capture a full year, users must run two separate reports and merge them.
This grows linearly with tenure — +2 reports for every additional year of operation — making full-inventory reporting increasingly burdensome over time.
Merging multiple exports introduces reconciliation risk and has historically surfaced count discrepancies between merged files.
Requested Enhancement:
Ideally: Allow reporting/exports to run with no mandatory date-range selection, returning the full asset library in a single export.
At minimum: Extend the maximum selectable date range well beyond 6 months (e.g., all-time, or a multi-year range) so a full year — and ideally full history — can be retrieved in one pass.
Business Impact / Why It Matters:
Eliminates manual multi-report batching and merging, saving significant analyst time on every reporting cycle.
Removes a growing operational burden that compounds every year as asset volume increases.
Improves data accuracy and trust by avoiding merge-related count discrepancies.
Enables reliable, complete inventory reporting for governance, audits, and stakeholder analytics.
Workaround Today: Running two 6-month reports per year of operation and merging the outputs — manual, repetitive, and not sustainable at scale.
