Ability to Edit Field Type After Creation
It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to modify a field’s type after it has been created (e.g., switching a field from Text to Dropdown, Dropdown to Multi-select, etc.).
Right now, if a field is initially set up with the wrong type or needs to evolve as workflows mature, the only option is to create a brand-new field. This creates several challenges:
Existing tasks and content items lose continuity because the new field doesn’t retain historical data.
Reporting becomes fragmented across multiple versions of essentially the same field.
It increases admin overhead, especially when managing large or complex workspaces.
Being able to edit the field type directly would make it much easier to clean up fields, maintain data consistency, and adapt to changing team needs without needing workarounds or duplicative fields.
