Quick edit blocks inside TinyMCE
When you click edit on a block inside TinyMCE the CMS navigates to the content. It would be nice for editors to offer an option to quick edit blocks like you can do for blocks inside Content Areas

Feedback on UI Layout in Optimizely 12 Edit Mode
In Optimizely 12 I have noticed a significant change in the Edit Mode UI layout that I would like to share as feedback.
In Optimizely 11, the Edit Mode UI was more compact, providing editors with a more efficient workspace and minimizing empty space. However, in Optimizely 12, the Edit Mode layout includes a considerable amount of empty space, reducing the effective workspace for editors. This change is affecting the user experience, especially for those who were accustomed to the more compact design in Optimizely 11.This was one of the feedback points we received from our editors.

Improve UI for a better editing experience on language settings and similar popups
While the updated CMS area in Optimizely 12 has improved in many ways, some parts of the UI have been changed in a way that makes editing more difficult.
One such area is the language settings, where previously only languages that had settings associated with them were displayed. It was not until editing the settings that all languages were displayed. The UI is also more spacious now in general, with more padding and larger font sizes, which leads to less items visible at one time.
Furthermore, the popup is too narrow to display all columns when more than 4-5 languages…4 votes -
Add the option to use local time in the CMS instead of UTC
When adding a time from a Date/Time-picker in the CMS, you select one value, and then another value displays out on the website.
This is because you display UTC in the CMS and the browser then changes the time to local time out on the web. However this is extremely cumbersome for editors, since they need first of all be aware of this, and second of all think one extra step.
It would therefore be great if there was a solution for this, for example a setting to always display local time inside the CMS.2 votes -
Alert author when moving page results in duplicate url
When creating child pages and moving them to be the same level as the parent results in duplicate url, alert the author that moving will result in a duplicate url and require the author to make a change.
Steps to recreate:
1. create a parent page titled Monday Tips (url ends with /monday.tips
2. create a child page called Monday Tips (url ends with /monday.tips/monday.tips
3. moving the child page to be a at the same level as the parent would result in a duplicate url (/monday.tips. Opti doesn't allow duplicates and appends a numeric value to the end of…2 votes -
AllowedTypes for blocks added in Xhtml editor using the 'Add local block' button
It would be nice to be able to filter the selection of blocks to be created using the "Add local block" button in TinyMCE in the same way as when creating a new page or adding a block in a content area.

Automatic tracking of page redirects
When moving a page in the page hierarchy or changing the url slug the CMS should give me the option to add a redirect record that could be used to issue an appropriate redirect from the frontend.
Redirect records should be queryable from Optimizely Graph similar to pages and experiences so that my frontend code can easily detect when to return a redirect and where to.5 votes -
Search capability missing from select page or block dialog.
If site has thousands pages and blocks, it is very difficult to select correct page or block to link each other. Current you have to browse via tree to find correct content to create link or select block.
Select page or content dialog should have search field as it is in page or block tree. This speed up content editor to find correct page or block.8 votes -
Improvements local inline blocks
This is the drawback right now with local blocks:
1. There is no way to map the inline local blocks between versions or language contexts. Why not add a GUID?
2. There is no way in the UI (Dojo JavaScript API to determine if the context is within "inline blocks dialog" or to identify which ContentArea it resides in, or to direct link to an inline block.
as a plugin developer, this is needed to map content and build great plugins. .1 vote -
Bring back Smart Publish
Please put Smart Publish back in the Publish menu. It disappeared in the move to CMS 12 and the only thing my team can find that's even close is to the same functionality is to:
1. Create a new Project.
2. Make any changes in the new project.
3. Hit Overview.
4. Publish Items from Overview .
Not only is that not intuitive at all, but it's significantly more work (especially if you forget and make a bunch of changes in the Primary Draft, because then you have to redo them in the new Project.4 votes -
Missing search field in content area popup
For a property of type ContentArea which is restricted to a certain pagetype, the search field is not visible.

CMS Editor - Allowed Types - Restriction Info
In the CMS Editor, when a content area has AllowedTypes specified, it always lists types that are not allowed in the hint text. However, the list that's not allowed is not complete.
We expect the only the types that are allowed to be listed.
Example
[AllowedTypes(typeof(CustomDataAttributeBlock]
public virtual ContentArea? GAAttributes { get; set; }
CMS Editor shows:
Only Custom Attribute Block types, but not Form elements, Form step, Rich text (with placeholders, or Form Location URL.
Expected:
Only Custom Attribute Block types4 votes -
Trademark & superscript text in content
At the moment, there's no way to superscript trademark or registered symbols in the copy within the email. The only way to edit this is within an element.

Change the red asterisk on required fields
No other site or system I have seen have a red asterisk when property is filled correctly. I think you should find another icon to show required, not one that is used for errors.

Adjust due time for an entire workflow/task instead of each step
The due date time automatically populates as 12:00 p.m., or to your current time when adding steps to a workflow. I want the ability to bulk adjust the time for every step in a task. For example, on our team, most of us quit working around 5 p.m. CST - so I want to be able to make the time 5 p.m. for all steps within a task. Having to change each one is tedious, and often steps will show up as "overdue" in my queue when I really have until the end of the day to complete them.

A true unpublish option or the ability to schedule the end of expiration
A true unpublish option would be a huge asset to the CMS. If that's not possible (or at least not possible soon, then the ability to schedule an end to expiration should work.
It might sound like a small thing, but being able to unpublish and then schedule for republishing can be the difference between a couple of clicks and rebuilding an entire page (or pages, if you're very unlucky. In the current system, if something needs to be pulled off the site you have to expire it. But if you want to put it back up at a specific…6 votes -
Unchecking "show all languages" in back-end (sites tab isn't saved.
When you uncheck the "show all languages" button (sites tab and then switch language/do a page reload, the choice isn't saved.
It's really annoying for our content editor, since for our multisite project, one of the sites only has very few cultures available.
The backend saves nearly all settings, even when you click the "pin" on the site tree or assets panel & you refresh, it is being saved. So I don't see why this checkbox wouldn't be saved.
I reported this as a bug but because it's been like this for so long, it was recommended to create this…1 vote -
Time zone issue affecting published Date
|
| When publishing content we are experiencing an issue with the published date displayed on site consistently being one day earlier than the date the content is actually published. We have the following request to enable us to resolve this issue.
Is it possible to use the .Net 6 built in type DateOnly in CMS 12+ ? Setting time zone on the server as suggested does not help in scenarios where we don't want to neither use nor display a date at all because the internal timezone conversion places dates on the day before in some cases. This can…1 vote -
Saving content model fields with HTML tags should be possible if validateRequest is set to true
As a CMS editor I want to be able to save content model fields, if they containt HTML tags.
<system.web>
<pages validateRequest="true" />
</system.web>
Use content model containing a property where Description contains HTML tag, e.g.:
[CultureSpecific]
[Display(
Name = "Gültigkeitsabfrage Text",
Description = "<ul><li>text</li></ul>",
GroupName = SystemTabNames.Content,
Order = 150]
public virtual XhtmlString MainBody { get; set; }
The current behavior is that is throws a validation exception due to posting unescaped HTML tag.1 vote -
Add dependencies to blocks
It would be great if blocks could be shown depending on "Dependencies" just like it can be done with form elements. E.g. a block is hidden until somebody clicks a link (button on the page.
It provides me the possibility to add 2 different (CRM integrated forms and show one of them depending on the choice of the visitor.
Of course it should not only work for the above-mentioned example.1 vote
