Feature Request: Graph Smooth Synchronization improvements

We had a broken index in production.
Graph Smooth Synchronization seems like a nice feature.
Tested it in integration, when I had some issues there too, but issue wasn’t solved using this job.
A reset and re-sync made it work again.
That leaves us no reason to trust this job to fix a broken index, so, can you ensure the Graph Smooth Synchronization job is behaving like a complete Reset + Re-sync but with the nice feature you have, a slot testable and rollbackable feature?
Is that something you can consider, so we can solve issues without disturbing the running instance!?
