As of early 2024 or late 2023 (not exactly sure which release, a change was made in the PIM Refresh Published to prevent running in any environment other than Sandbox and Production. This causes hardship/extra work for customers and partners to get PIM data into local/dev environments, as every time new data is needed we have to request a sandbox backup, and take a decent amount of time (per developer to update settings, clear PII data, etc. It adds unnecessary effort. I see no reason to prevent pulling into a local environment? And it was done without notification and potentially unintentionally. John M was already notified about it, but putting this in as well.
So the request is to allow "Refresh Published Products" in local/dev environments.
