The current url segment generation is based on the RFC 3986 where punctuation is a valid character to include in a URI, see section 2.3 in ietf.org/rfc/rfc3986.txt.
Could you elaborate on the problems you're seeing with these characters in URL's, as reality doesn't always have to align with theory when it comes to these things!

We’ve committed to building this feature and it’s now part of our future roadmap. While we can’t share an exact release date yet, this means it’s planned for development. Thanks for helping us prioritize this work.
hi Hakan, our example is around urls that have a monitery value within the title e.g. https://dsei-uk.vercel.app/en/news/technology/eda-consults-industry-partners-ahead-of-eur1.6m-quantum-technology-tender/
our development partner has enabled us to have valid urls with a dot in the url, but would prefer the approach to remove the dot from the slug altogether (or automatically convert it into a hyphen)
