Workflow Capability

Currently our business has a process to set up parts in our ERP systems. We use Excel, Smartsheet, and our ERP. Then we migrate over to the PIM to capture more information.

That is a difficult transition because our users are already working with 3 different products and we are asking them to adopt a fourth.

What I would like to see is a front end to the PIM that allows users to submit new products via a structured environment that includes routing to different functional areas.

As an example, our sales team fields a request for a new product. They submit the new product on a workflow that gets routed to quality. Quality verifies the proposed new part meets the customers requirement. It then gets sent to Procurement to verify the supplier is set up in our system and that they have acceptable terms. Then it goes to our ERP team to create the part number in our system. Finally it would go to the PIM admin to ensure the specifications are captured.

This would be a tremendous help in driving adoption.
