Auto-Add Kitted Products to Cart with ability to Promote

As a Distribution Company eCommerce Manager we want Customers to know they can/need to buy the entire kit, and hopefully automatically add those required Products to their Cart, with a Price discount for buying the entire "kit".

This is something which we could imagine being part of the new Promo Engine (new Promo Engine in development) managed - we could also see interactions with Product Configurations.

Additional details:

I remember hearing when the new promotions engine comes out, it will not be customizable. So here is something else to consider!

We have a Channel Manager that wants to be able to add one item to their cart and it automatically adds the rest of the kit for them (an additional 3 – 4 products). I was hoping I could do that via a promo code, but it doesn’t seem that I can.

I set up a test with a result of Discount Product (since they will be at a discounted price as well), but I have to ADD the products myself first before I can add the promo code. I was thinking the website would do that work for the customer.

Is there a way to do this today and I’m just missing it? If not, please consider for the new engine 😊
