Allow a singular, remaining sub-step to become the main step by retaining all its information

I noticed that if I have multiple sub-steps within a step and need to remove all but one, the remaining sub-step's information (step name, description) doesn't convert into a main step. Instead, the main step's original name stays the same, and the description of the remaining step is gone. Is there a way that a remaining sub-step can simply turn into a main step, keeping its name and description. It's worth noting the assignee remains the same, which is good.
