Being able to see color of variants selection

As a user, I would like to be able to choose my variant with a color picker to make my variant selection easier.

With the actual dropdown menu, it's pretty hard to choose the variant that you want when you have more than 5 colors and when some seem pretty similar by name. It would be great to have an out-of-the-box way to add an image to a variant trait and be able to display them visually, kind of like that:
