In 9 Months - GitHub partially soved the issue with the MS teams Integration.
I would recommend EPI teams to start from there.
The problem is when we have loads of projects and deployments to prep/prod directly from e.g. azure pipelines takes about 40 minutes, therefore we only deploy to inte from azure pipelines and do it manually in the PAAS portal to prep/prod.
If we made all deployments to prep/prod from azure pipelines using the deployment api we would either need to buy licenses for a lot more azure agents or they would be queued up for hours delaying all other builds.
A simple webhook with a bit of metadata would solve all these issues as it could just trigger a new pipeline run on demand.
Maybe I'm missing something but if you're using the newer modern way to do things, i.e the Deployment API. Then you'll have your full information on the deployment via the build pipeline and can just post hooks to teams with information. For example if using azure you can just use the pipelines app and this will give you the same information or configure emails to anyone who knows. This seems only relevant to the manual PASS portal way
EPI team any news please?
This idea is number one since a couple of months and not in progress.
It is a bit far from the initial reasonable expectation to be honest.
Being able to invoke a webhook on deploy would be very useful, hope it will be added soon.
It has been now 6 weeks in "investigation mode".
For us this will orientate our next steps on something else.
I hope the functionality could still be profitable for others.

If there could be webhooks to post this data that could be configured in the PASS portal that could do the job. Then you could simple add in a LogicApp to Azure with a webhook trigger and post to teams the information. This would also allow with the LogicApp to trigger any integrations that you like (slack, jira, teams, devops)
Do we have any news on this please?
Any estimate on the potential Time To Value?
Many Thanks
Alternative, just adding extra emails to be sent in the PaaS Portal could be a simple solution. Microsoft Team channels can have emails sent to them, so one could add these to the Paas Portal.
Awesome idea! We will bring it up with the dev team and consider it for the backlog.
