More Intuitive New Version Button

We rely heavily on versions when working on assets, but we often run into issues when users accidentally use the "+ Add Content" button, creating a new piece of content within the task, thus breaking the version history for that asset. Subsequently when folks try to correct they sometimes end up deleting the wrong piece of content (because all the icons are the same), requiring us to go to support for recovery, and delaying our work.


We really need a more prominent offering for "Upload New Version", since the existing options are both buried under small icons (the ... or via the pencil icon on the draft page).

Our users have suggested the following ways to display the offering in a logical flow:

  • An additional button offering a new version of the selected/visible content in the window

  • A prominent option under the "+ Add Content" button (New Version and New Content)

  • A option in the upload content window after you click the new content button

  • Post comment
